Hello Everyone!
My name is Rose Ahrens and this is my second year teaching at Dara as a Prathom 3 teacher. I am so excited to continue my journey here at Dara!
I am from San Francisco, California in the United States of America, although I have been living in Southeast Asia for about 8 months. I attended Cal Poly University in California and achieved a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Sciences and a minor in Biology. Throughout my coursework and young adulthood I have worked with children in a variety of ways. I have volunteered in an elementary classroom, coached gymnastics, worked at summer camps, taught English and been a caregiver for children over the years. I received my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification in Phnom Penh, Cambodia where I taught for 7 months. After visiting Chiang Mai I knew that moving to Thailand would be an incredible and life changing decision!
I am thrilled to be a part of the Dara community and work with such qualified and wonderful coworkers. I look forward to creating a positive and open environment where my students can grow as English speakers and develop social skills for their future!
