Hello, my name is Nicky. I am from England, more specifically the north east, near
Middlesbrough. I have been living in Thailand for 3 years. I originally worked as a teacher in Esan, in
Muang Loei. I taught Mathayom, which was fun, but moved to Prathom. I found this level was more
involved and fun to teach.
I moved to Chiang Mai in April 2016 because I wanted to try a larger city and a more acJve
lifestyle. It is my first year at Dara and I’m very excited. My teaching level here is P5 and one P6 class.
I like to think I am a fun teacher who the students feel comfortable with. In the classroom I aim
for a encouraging environment, one where the kids are free to make mistakes and don’t feel
embarrassed about it.
On a personal level, I love art and being creaJve. Stories are a lot of fun and one of the best
things to do, for me, is to make children’s illustraJons. In the past I have had work published in a book
called, ‘Aww Mama.’
Also, this year I look forward to being a new father which is excitng.
